Battle of Amfar featuring Dr. Landau

Dr. Nathaniel Landau appeared in the Documentary “The Battle of AmfAR”, which premiered on Dec. 2, 9pm on HBO. The documentary is centered on the contributions of Matilde Krim and Elizabeth Taylor in the fight against HIV/AIDS and their roles in founding the American Foundation for AIDS Research. In the film, Dr. Landau discusses the science of HIV infection and describes his AmfAR funded research that led to the finding that some individuals are immune to HIV infection as the result of an inherited genetic trait, a finding that led to the development of a new class of antiretroviral drugs.
